September 2007 – JOURNEY made a big statement about trafficking
JOURNEY attracted massive attention in Trafalgar Square. This powerful arts installation told the story of Elena who was sold to traffickers for £500 and brought to the UK where she was forced to work as a prostitute, servicing up to 30 clients a day. Seven shipping containers were curated by different artists including Anish Kapoor and Oscar-winning costume designer Sandy Powell. It was experienced by over 10,000 people, televised and covered by the media and on YouTube and visited by Home Secretary Jacqui Smith and the Culture Secretary James Purnell.

December 2007 – A compelling candlelight Vigil
We held a Vigil to remember all who are separated from their homes and families at St George’s Church, Hanover Square. Speakers included Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Eve Pearce and Helen Bamber, along with musical guests Guy Barker, Ian Shaw, Polly Gibbons, and the choir of the Godolphin and Latymer School. Our music group from the Creative Arts Programme performed, and a number of clients read pieces they had written about their experience.
