An intimate showcase from our inspirational refugee choir.
Tuesday 17th December, Cecil Sharpe House, 6:30pm
Formed in 2007, Woven Gold is a family made of survivors – refugees and asylum seekers from around the world, who have experienced unspeakable abuses and who find healing and support through sharing and creating music together.
This concert will take you on a journey through traditional music from the choir’s home countries (ranging from Congo to Iran, Pakistan to Kurdistan and Uganda) as well as original music written by its members.
The evening will be a celebration of survival, community and the shared joy of music.
