‘I am what I am today because of Helen Bamber Foundation.’ – Anita, survivor.
With just a handful of players, the HBF football club started in the summer of 2010. We now have a full team of committed members who play every week in a London Park.
We are a diverse group aged from 17 to 50, representing eight different nationalities. Some had never played football before, others played professionally in their former countries.
All we need is a football. With bags as goalposts and without proper boots, the club is run on a shoestring. However, our hope is to be lent a pitch with real goalposts, and obtain our own kit.
